Indian Delegation Led by Dr. Shashi Tharoor and MP Tejasvi Surya Meets Vishv Umiya Foundation Leaders in Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C., June 4, 2025 — In the wake of the successful Operation Sindoor initiated by the Government of India, a high-level Indian delegation led by Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament, and Shri Tejasvi Surya, one of India’s youngest and most dynamic MPs, arrived in the United States to engage with key community leaders and strengthen India-U.S. relations.
As part of this visit, the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C. hosted an exclusive interaction with the leadership of the Vishv Umiya Foundation (VUF) — a global organization dedicated to cultural preservation, community unity, and empowerment of the Patidar diaspora.

During the meeting, Dr. Tharoor and MP Surya were briefed on the vision, mission, and impactful initiatives of the Vishv Umiya Foundation, both in India and globally. The delegation acknowledged the Foundation’s remarkable efforts in fostering unity, preserving heritage, and promoting youth engagement among the global Patidar community.
The interaction marked a significant moment of recognition and appreciation, strengthening the bridge between Indian leadership and its vibrant diaspora in the United States.
